About Insight

We make complex decisions clearer.

Insight is a niche payments consultancy. For more than 25 years we've helped clients across the payments value chain understand, and take control of, the drivers of their profitability.

Our story

Built by people who worked inside the schemes.

James Cranfield and Suzanne Holcombe founded Insight in 1999, after careers at Mastercard. They had seen first-hand how few organisations truly understood the economics of card payments — and how much that cost them.

Since then we've witnessed spectacular change: sustained double-digit growth, digital innovation, regulation of interchange and fees, and wave after wave of industry consolidation. Through all of it, our focus hasn't changed. We demystify the complex parts of the payments value chain so our clients can make better decisions.

Today we work from London and Madrid with issuers, acquirers, processors, schemes, retailers and merchants around the world. We're accredited Visa University faculty, and we partner with Cognodata to deliver scheme fee management and pricing on the Cognopay platform.
